Matthew Young - Portraits

Matthew Young - Portraits

This shoot was fun to say the least because I had the opportunity to photograph my husband, Matthew. At the same time, I discovered just how silly a husband can get when he's stuck in front of the camera for a long while.

These photos were taken at Memorial Park, on 800 East and Center Street in Provo UT.

Subject #1:  Matthew Young

Trying out different poses to get what seems the most "natural".

I love the foliage here in this park. Lots of things to "hide" behind when taking photos.

Classic "Heather Hiding" shot.

Overall, it was a good experience having a male model. Next time, I think I'll shoot portraits with more formal attire. I feel as if the model behaves more if dressed in nicer attire.

Please feel free to comment on the above photos and check out my other work at wix.com/utahphoto/HeatherHiding

"Take 2" Bridals - Behind the Scenes

The wedding is over and done and what do you do with the dress? Stick it in your closet hoping that one day your child will wear it for her wedding? No. Hh Photo asked two very willing women to bring out the ol' dress and take even more bridals.

This was a wonderful opportunity not only for the "brides" to wear their wedding dress once more and get free photos, but also for me to expand my bridal portfolio.

For a limited time, I am offering free one hour bridals, complete with a DVD of digital and edited photos after the shoot. This offer is good until the end of the month, May 31st. So, if you are getting married soon or just want to pull out your white gown once more, give me a call or email me to set up your photo shoot. *Free shoots only for Provo, Utah area. If you live outside the Provo/Orem area but are interested in this limited time offer, give me a call and we'll work something out.

Be sure to check out these beautiful bridals as well!

Model 1: BrookeLynne Wilcox (10 months after her wedding)

Assistant Photographer: Jessie Heaton

BrookeLynne has a beautiful lacey gown with lots of detail. During the entire shoot, I was careful to make sure that those details stood out. One of the most important aspects of bridal photography, besides the bride of course, is her beautiful dress.

This shoot featured a wooden chair painted blue. It made a lovely prop for the entire shoot.

My specialty is the shot from above. I feel as if it is the most flattering angle of the face and truly allows the photographer to get a great view of the eyes and smile.

My absolute favorite photo of the day. And the best thing about this photo is that it looks great in both black and white AND color! What a wonderful shot.

Model #2: Jessie Heaton (Yes. This is the same Jessie Heaton assisting me above. She is talented as well as beautiful!) (almost 2 years after the wedding)

We shot these photos in Mapleton, Utah at an abandoned barn. And we weren't the only ones there with the same ideas. This is a photographer's dream!

This venue had great lighting and wonderful solid backgrounds like this to shoot up against. The less distracting the background, the greater focus is placed on the subject itself.

Luckily this bride had really good pose and balance! Although she looks effortless in this photo, the bride was actually balancing herself on this blue gas can which was not the most sturdy prop ever.

Again with the solid backgrounds! This one of yellow wild grass truly allows the subject to pop out and grab our attention.

The light was lovely during the entire shoot.

What a simple and beautiful wedding band! Love it.

Showing off the beautiful aspects of the bride's profile.

I'm loving this sunflare I added/rendered using Photo Shop. What a fun accent.

Isn't this an epic venue?

This shot was the bride's idea. What a great angle and fun 'matrix' the barn door makes.

Thanks for stopping in. Feel free to comment regarding any of the bridal shoot photos. And, let your friends know about the limited time offer for free Bridals. Set up your appointment by contacting Hh Photo. If you do so BEFORE May 31, the cost of the 1 hour shoot is on the house. :)
